Referrals - Commitment 2
The Commitment:
Distribute Settlement Services in the Bow Valley monthly newsletter to all staff, and/or
Regularly post Settlement Services and Foreign Worker Support Services posters in a prominent location that all team members can access.
Why This Commitment?
Settlement Services in the Bow Valley and Foreign Worker Support Services’ free, confidential services should be the first stop for any Bow Valley resident who was born outside of Canada. Not only do they provide a wealth of information about visas, immigration, and life in Canada, but they also help newcomers connect to the community and offer referrals to an even wider range of trusted services and resources.
Both are constantly adjusting their programming to meet current needs. They use their newsletters and posters to share these opportunities as well as timely, important information for Bow Valley newcomers.
It can be easy for people who can benefit from this information to miss it. Regularly sharing the Settlement Services newsletter and creating a permanent space that your staff can visit to see the latest news from immigrant-serving agencies will help foreign-born team members thrive — and stay — in your organization and our community.
How To Complete This Commitment (Evaluation Plan)
In October 2022, we’ll ask you to:
Show us the bulletin board or space where you shared the posters (photo evidence preferred), or
Forward us copies of at least three emails that were sent to all of your staff on three separate months between October 2021 and October 2022. (If you use alternative methods to share all staff updates, such as a staff intranet or Facebook groups, we will accept equivalent screenshots.)
Evidence of (1) or (2) will prove completion of this commitment.
